2007: Launch of MPD 600 and DIRANA and continuing expansion
With the new MPD 600 Partial Discharge Analysis System OMICRON now offers a very accurate, perfectly reliable and light-weighted tool for the detection, location, recording and analysis of partial discharge events in many different applications. This first fully synchronous multi-channel partial discharge analysis system from OMICRON was designed by mtronix.
In April OMICRON presented DIRANA, a Dielectric Response Analyzer for the fast dual-channel measurement of Oil-Paper HV insulation in Power transformers, bushings, cables and generators with subsequent moister assessment. The product has gotten world wide positive feedback, especially regarding the fast measurement time, smallness and user friendly software.
OMICRON could continue its successful story and was growing continuously. The OMICRON team has now increased to more than 250 employees worldwide and the expansion of the OMICRON Development Center (ODC) in Austria could be completed. In parallel, the new Berlin office, where the OMICRON Monitoring team and the mtronix team are located, was opened in December.
2006: Majority holding of German technology leader in the field of electrical partial discharge measurement
Since November this year the German company mtronix, based in Berlin, is part of the OMICRON group. mtronix was founded in 1997 in Berlin as a spin-off from the Technical University Berlin. By then the specialized team had already gathered a long experience of research in the field of sophisticated electronic measuring systems for astronautics, power and medical engineering.
By taking over the majority of the German business mtronix, OMICRON not only extends its range of services in the field of test and measurement engineering for electrical power systems, but also provides access to new market segments.
2004: Launch of CP TD 1, new Software TU 2.0 and foundation of France Office
During that year, OMICRON has consolidated its position in the Transformer testing market with the launch of the CP TD 1 equipment for testing Power transformer insulation.
The new Test Universe 2.0 Software, launched in October 2004 offers new dimensions in automated testing and sets also a new benchmark in quick and easy manual testing.
Earlier in the year the branch office in Paris, France was established to assure best customer service in the region.
