OMICRON

Coupling of Power Lines into Signal Cables

Due to the magnetic fields surrounding transmission lines and power cables, the effect of inductive coupling into adjacent electrical systems or metallic constructions is a common phenomenon. If signal cables, gas or water pipes, or other electrically conducting components run along power lines, considerable voltage can be induced into them. This coupling impedance can be accurately measured by using OMICRON's test system CPC 100 + CP CU1 + CP AL1.
