The UHF 608 extends the measurable bandwidth of the MPD 600.
With the additional range of 220 to 850 MHz, unconventional measurements are made possible. This method has been used successfully for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) for years and is mentioned in IEC 60270 (VHF/UHF measurement method).
Its use for cables and transformers is a new, modern approach to extended PD measurement. Various sensors, also used for the spectrum analyzer, can be used for this PD measurement.
