Regular service, inspection and calibration of measuring and testing devices have become an important aspect of quality assurance in general. The Field Calibration Software FCS supports users when performing a calibration or a self check. A number of test templates are available for the different CMC test sets and amplifier units. A calibration can be performed with any suitable reference device with sufficient accuracy. Users can perform a self check utilizing the CMC test set's own analog measuring inputs. The number of included test points can be adapted according to the individual needs.
It should be noted that to perform a test the following accessories are necessary:
General
CMLIB A including BNC-banana cable to connect low level outputs.
For self test
AC-Shunt, e.g. 200 mOhm, 21 Apk for measurement of current, other shunt values are possible (test templates have to be adopted).
For calibration
To measure the values below high-precision measurement devices and a calibrated shunt are necessary. High-precision sources are also needed for calibration of the DC measurement inputs.
- Voltage (0…300 V AC/DC measurements)
- Current (0…21 Apk AC/DC measurements)
- Phase
- THD
- Frequency
- Voltage (0...10 V DC source)
- Current (0...20 mA DC source
Reference measurement devices
Voltage: 300 V, error < 200 ppm (e.g. 8.5 digits digital Multimeter Datron 1281 or Agilent 3458A)
Current: 200 mOhm, 21 Apk, error < 50 ppm (e.g. Tinsley 1682 bifilar winded oil shunt)
Phase: error < 50 ppm (e.g. Clarke-Hess 5500-2)
THD: 20 kHz bandwidth, error < 50 ppm (e.g. Keithley 2015)
Frequency: 1000 Hz, 0.1 ppm
Exact DC voltage and current source, error < 30 ppm
The voltage output of the CMC can be used as DC source (use source mode). To calibrate the 20 mA DC measurement input an external power source has to be used (error < 50 ppm).
The FCS Field Calibration Software is part of the standard delivery of TU Software Version 2.x. The Software is also available as a stand-alone application for TU 1.4 and higher. The FCS Software is available in English.
