The CMC 256plus is the first choice for applications requiring very high accuracy. This unit is not only an excellent test set for protection devices of all kinds but also a universal calibrator.
Its high precision allows the calibration of a wide range of measuring devices, including: energy meters of class 0.2, measuring transducers, power quality measurement devices and phasor measurement units (PMU).

LLO-2 Hardware Option
This option adds additional 6 low level outputs to a CMC 356/353/256plus/256-6 (NET-1). The total amount of generators that can be controlled by the test set is extended from 16 to 22 (CMC 353: 13 to 19). The low level outputs can be used to directly test relays with low level inputs or can be used to control additional external amplifiers like CMS 156 or CMA 156.
The low level outputs can simulate signals from non conventional CTs and VTs with low level interfaces. Unique is that Rogowski-coil signals can be simulated not only steady state but also for transients.
PAR-1 Hardware Option
This option replaces the standard Ethernet-interfaces for PC control of the test set with a parallel port. This is required when the binary extension device CMB IO-7 is run jointly with the CMC 256plus or if connecting to a CENTRONICS port of a PC is still preferred.
If this option is selected the extension of the test set with the option LLO-2 is not possible, also the CMIRIG-B accessory and GOOSE messaging are not supported.
With this upgrade an existing CMC test set will be equipped with a NET-1C processor board with one USB and two Ethernet interfaces. These interfaces allow test set control via USB or Ethernet networks respectively locally using the CMControl. In addition, testing with substation communication protocols becomes possible.
